One-of-a-kind Illinois Facility to Advance Clean Energy Economy 

– Invenergy, the leading privately held developer, owner, and operator of sustainable energy solutions, today announced it has broken ground on its Center of Excellence (CoE), a $30 million clean energy training and manufacturing facility located at 790 Remington Boulevard in Bolingbrook, Illinois, about 30 miles outside Chicago. The new facility will span 135,000 sq. ft. and is anticipated to open in the fourth quarter of 2024 following the buildout of the existing site which will employ over 250 local construction workers. 

“The Center of Excellence is Invenergy’s latest investment in the workforce of the future and reinforces our leadership in meeting the growing demand for clean energy,” said Steve Dowdy, Executive Vice President and Operating Business Leader at Invenergy. “As we collectively meet today’s rapidly expanding energy needs, this state-of-the-art training and equipment refurbishment facility continues our commitment to the region, elevating Chicagoland, Illinois, and the US as the tip of the spear for energy infrastructure investment and innovation." 

The CoE will be comprised of four main components:

Invenergy Announces $30M Center of Excellence Focused on Training and Manufacturing

Invenergy Services Surpasses 1 GW of Managed Wind Assets in Brazil

SÃO PAULO, BR (July 1, 2024) - Invenergy, the leading privately held developer, owner, and operator of sustainable energy solutions, today announced with Patria Investments the acquisition of ContourGlobal and Eletrobras’ nearly 600-megawatt (MW) wind energy portfolio in Brazil. Invenergy will hold a 10% ownership stake in the portfolio, while the remaining 90% will be owned by Patria Investments. Invenergy will also provide wind turbine operations & maintenance services for the portfolio.

“This first-of-its-kind transaction for Invenergy Services in Brazil expands our O&M portfolio of managed assets and makes Invenergy an owner of installed wind capacity in the country for the first time,” said Steve Dowdy, Executive Vice President at Invenergy.  “The work we do at Invenergy Services is guided by our ‘owners’ mindset,’ and this opportunity reflects our commitment to excellent service at every project we operate.”

The wind energy portfolio includes four projects located across Piauí and Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil: Asa Branca, Chapada I, Chapada II and Chapada III. The power generated by these projects is sold to various distribution companies through long-term contracts awarded during federally organized renewable energy auctions.

Partnership to Include Reactivate Community Solar Projects and In-Ballpark Signage

today announced a new multiyear partnership, making the Chicago-based global developer, owner and operator of clean energy solutions the “Official Solar Provider” of the Cubs and Wrigley Field, a first for the club.

Chicago Cubs And Invenergy Announce New Multiyear Partnership

PATASKALA, OH – June 4, 2024 - Illuminate USA, a leading US solar panel manufacturer, has shipped its very first panels to a new solar energy center under construction in Hardin County, Ohio. Invenergy’s Hardin Solar III Energy Center will provide up to 250 megawatts of clean electricity - enough to power 48,000 Ohio homes - upon expected completion later this year.

“Illuminate USA started producing solar panels at scale within a year of its launch, and now more than 700 Ohioans are showing the solar industry that the US is ramping up to meet our nation's demand for clean energy,” said Illuminate USA CEO Frank Zhu.

Today, the American company includes a team of more than 700 “Illuminators” at its 1.1 million square foot advanced manufacturing facility in Licking County. Once reaching full capacity later this year, more than 1,000 Ohioans will be on site and more than 9.2 million high-quality solar panels will be produced annually. This equals 5 gigawatts of electricity production, enough to power 1 million American homes.

 - A Invenergy, uma das maiores empresas desenvolvedora, proprietária e operadora de soluções de energia sustentável, anuncia em conjunto com Patria Investimentos a aquisição dos parques eólicos com capacidade instalada de aproximadamente 600 megawatts (MW) da ContourGlobal e Eletrobras no Brasil. A Invenergy, empresa americana de capital fechado, deterá 10% do capital do portfólio, enquanto os 90% restantes serão de propriedade do Patria Investimentos. A Invenergy também fornecerá serviços de operação e manutenção (O&M) das turbinas eólicas 

“A transação, inédita para a Invenergy Services no Brasil, expande o nosso portfólio global de O&M e torna a empresa proprietária de ativos eólicos no país pela primeira vez”, conta Steve Dowdy, vice-presidente executivo da Invenergy. “O trabalho que realizamos na Invenergy Services é guiado pela mentalidade de ‘proprietários’, e essa oportunidade reflete o compromisso com um serviço excelente em todos os projetos que operamos”, completa.

Invenergy e Patria Investimentos adquirem portfólio de parques eólicos brasileiros de 600 MW da ContourGlobal e Eletrobras

				Innovative Financing Facilitated $1.5 Billion Acquisition

 (August 15, 2023) - Invenergy, the leading privately held developer, owner, and operator of sustainable energy solutions, today announced IRG Acquisition Holdings (IRGAH), a partnership between Invenergy, CDPQ and funds managed by Blackstone Infrastructure Partners (Blackstone), has closed on the acquisition of American Electric Power’s (AEP) 1,365-megawatt (MW) unregulated, contracted renewables portfolio for $1.5 billion enterprise value. 

“This transaction was the result of our innovative financing approach, the strength of our investor consortium, and our exceptional team who will integrate the projects into our portfolio in collaboration with our partners and service providers,” said Meghan Schultz, Executive Vice President and CFO at Invenergy. “Invenergy has industry-leading operations and asset management capabilities, and we look forward to applying our unmatched expertise to this portfolio of projects.” 

The portfolio, the largest ever acquisition for American-led Invenergy, includes 14 projects in 11 states and is comprised of 1,200 MW of wind generation and 165 MW of solar projects. The renewable power generated by these projects is contracted under long-term agreements with various utilities, corporations, and municipalities. 

IRGAH secured a $580 million commitment for a first-of-its-kind PTC tax credit transfer with Bank of America Securities, who served as Transferability Underwriter and Placement Agent and Financial Advisor. 

“We are excited to support this transaction with Invenergy and their partners in IRG Acquisition Holdings. This represents the first announced large scale transferability transaction to close since the passing of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) in August 2022 and creates a financeable transferability product that will be used to scale the growth of renewable energy, energy transition, and its associated supply chain development,” said Karen Fang, Global Head of Sustainable Finance at Bank of America.   

The consortium secured committed financing to support this acquisition from Banco Santander S.A., New York Branch, who acted as Structuring Agent, Coordinating Lead Arranger, and Co-Green Loan Coordinator; Coöperatieve Rabobank U.A., New York Branch, who acted as Coordinating Lead Arranger and Due Diligence Bank; Natixis CIB who acted as Coordinating Lead Arranger and Co-Green Loan Coordinator; and Export Development Canada who acted as Coordinating Lead Arranger.  

Additional lenders included: Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria S.A., New York Branch; Banco de Sabadell, S.A., Miami Branch; Bayerische Landesbank, New York Branch; CaixaBank, S.A.; MetLife, Inc.; National Westminster Bank plc; Norddeutsche Landesbank Girozentrale, New York Branch; Société Générale; and ICBC, New York Branch.

 Invenergy Services, the operations, asset management, and energy management affiliate of Invenergy, and global software provider Bazefield have partnered on a digital platform that will increase efficiency and improve customer experience for wind, solar, and storage asset owners, a global portfolio that is expected to top 25-gigawatts by 2025.

Invenergy Services Partners with Bazefield to Deliver a New Data-Driven Owner’s Platform

, has been named a 2022 Ripple of Hope Award laureate. Polsky will be honored alongside fellow laureates

The Robert F. Kennedy Ripple of Hope Award has honored exemplary leaders across government, business, advocacy, and entertainment who have demonstrated an unwavering commitment to social change and worked to protect and advance equity, justice, and human rights. At the helm of the largest private renewable energy company in North America, Polsky was selected in recognition of his ongoing efforts to accelerate the clean energy transition.

“My father was a strong believer in the importance of stewardship and protecting our environment for the generations to come,” said Kerry Kennedy, president of Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights. “Michael’s work is a tangible representation of that mission, providing the framework we need to build a more sustainable future.”

Driven by Polsky’s entrepreneurial vision, Invenergy has led the clean energy revolution, expanding from thermal generation to wind and solar, and is now paving the way for innovative technologies including energy storage, offshore wind, transmission, and clean water. The Ripple of Hope Award is inspired by Robert F. Kennedy’s most famous speech, the 1966 Day of Affirmation address he gave in South Africa at the height of apartheid: “Each time a man stands up for an ideal or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope, and crossing each other from a million different centers of energy and daring those ripples to build a current which can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance.”

. Invenergy’s investment will support military veterans and military spouses seeking careers in clean energy operations. 

The partnership furthers Invenergy’s commitment to military veterans and will remove barriers to participation in Airstreams Renewables leading training for operational careers by providing needed transitional support and assisting with their job placement pipeline. In addition to supporting recruiting efforts, Invenergy funding will provide for temporary housing, workplace tooling and personal protective equipment, travel, and childcare support.

“Airstreams Renewables builds on military veterans’ skills and experience and provides the clean energy industry with a trained and qualified workforce,” said John Majewski, Senior Vice President of Third-Party Services at Invenergy. “We are proud to advance this partnership and to provide opportunities for veterans to protect our nation’s energy security as they build a sustainable world.”

Airstreams Renewables programs help active-duty personnel and veterans transition to civilian life. As part of the Department of Defense SkillBridge program, Airstreams connects service members with industry partners for real-world job training where they gain valuable civilian work experience in the renewable energy sector during their last 180 days of service and helps program graduates secure careers in clean energy, telecommunications, and other industrial sectors. More than 7,000 military veterans and military spouses have completed the program at Airstreams Renewables across its eight SkillBridge active-duty branch campuses and at its newly expanded National Training Center.
